Product description
An air bed is an alternating-pressure mattress used for patients who must stay in bed for long periods, such as ICU, stroke, orthopaedic and elderly patients. By shifting the pressure under the body every few minutes, it helps reduce the risk of pressure sores, which are painful for the patient and costly for the hospital to treat.
It is made of rows of air cells in medical-grade PVC or nylon/TPU, connected to a small electric pump. The pump fills alternate cells in a cycle of roughly ten to twelve minutes, so no part of the body carries weight for too long. The mattress is placed on top of a standard hospital bed mattress or frame, and the pump hangs on the bed's foot panel.
Bubble-cell models suit general ward and home care; tubular-cell models with deeper cells and adjustable pressure with alarms suit long-stay and ICU patients. If your hospital has a standard specification or a tender format, Unnat Exports can quote and supply to that specification.
